A round sling is one loop measured from end to end. It is also known as a Polyester Sling, Poly Sling, or Span Set. Used in construction, circus, and theatre rigging. For theatre and entertainment purposes we can supply black 2 tonne round slings upon request.
Round slings are a necessity for any aerialist looking to rig in multiple venues or even at home. They are easy to use and extremely safe. Although heavier and bulkier than endless flat slings, they hold up against friction much better. These slings can be connected to the carabiner, shackles, quick links or a beam/truss. When using around a beam/truss it is essential to protect the round sling from the edge of a beam/truss with padding to prevent any movement from potentially cutting into the round sling itself. The round sling is pliable, and can be used in a choker shape, this prevents it from sliding along the beam/truss. Draped over the beam in a U or basket shape is the strongest. Or it can be used end to end. Each configuration is rated differently as per the tag on the round sling.
Sunny Lifting polyester round slings comply fully with Australian Standard 4497 and are available in capacities from 1 tonne with lengths to 8 metres. Sunny Lifting round slings are colour coded and feature stripes to easily identify the sling WLL. Each sling has an individual serial number, is proof load tested at manufacture and the test certificate is packaged with the sling.
